Thursday 26 January 2017, Australia Day Celebrations, Marysville

On January 26, Pans on Fire played at the Marysville Australia Day Parade. After many band members took part in the street parade, we played two sets in the big marquee (pausing for the Annual Duck Race in Marysville), before retiring to the recently-opened Duck Inn for a few quiet ones.

A multi-cultural display of flags is a regular feature of the Australia Day parade in Marysville. Rita Seethaler took the opportunity to carry the Swiss and Bernese flags in the parade, while other band members (in their "bird-shirts") carried a variety of other flags.

"Sport" was the theme of this year's parade, and the Marysville Quidditch Team took the opportunity to march (in bird-shirts and capes). A close-up of some Quidditch team members (Monica and Jane).

After finishing playing and waiting for the chance to re-pack the bus, several band members took the opportunity for a few quiet ones at the nearby Duck Inn. A nice way to end a very pleasant day.
