Friday 6 March 2015 - World Prayer Day, Uniting Church, Alexandra (#113)

Friday saw us in a very different venue from normal, as we played before and after a service held at the Uniting Church in Alexandra as part of World Prayer Day celebrations. We were asked to play because the event was being held as a joint service with a church in the Bahamas, and it was thought appropriate to have some Caribbean music to liven up proceedings. The reception we got from the audience during and after our rendition of Amazing Grace was, in itself, amazing. Especially from a group of school kids from St Mary’s Primary School (for whom we will be playing next week). I’m sure we have created a group of ambassadors who will go back to school to tell their mates what to expect next week!

The following week we got a nice little article in the local newspaper.
